This is a picture of Billy about to play in his death metal band. I wonder if he realises he looks like a coalminer. At play, he looks like his grandfather at work.

Acres - âpre
I was watching a British
film dubbed in French when the main actress was talking about vast areas of land
and said "âcres". It sounded very wrong. Why didn't they use "hectares"?
Acres sounded like âcre =
pungent or bitter, reminding me of âpre, which can also mean bitter.
I don't want my blog to
disappear, but I feel incapable of anything but a token post from time to time
to remind myself it's there. I think of it affectionately, especially the fact
that it will all someday just disappear into thin air. So will all the
notebooks I filled before the computer took over, but because they have a
physical presence, they seem somehow less ephemeral. Someone will have to
physically destroy them. No need for that with the blog.
